Search and Rescue (SAR) Services
At Ruakākā Surf Lifesaving Club, we are committed to saving lives beyond the flags. Our highly trained Search and Rescue (SAR) team operates alongside Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ), the New Zealand Police, Land Search and Rescue New Zealand, Hato Hone St John and the Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand to respond to emergencies along our coastline.
Our SAR squad is made up of dedicated volunteer lifeguards equipped to handle night operations, adverse weather conditions, and high-risk rescues. Whether it’s assisting stranded swimmers, locating missing persons, our team is always ready to act.
To maintain peak readiness, our members undergo intensive training, real-life rescue simulations, and participate in annual SAR Summits, ensuring they have the latest skills and knowledge.
We take pride in protecting our community and providing a rapid, professional response to critical incidents.
